Different Types of Conveyor Chains
In most conveyor systems, there are four main types of conveyor chains, each with its specific application characteristics:
Hollow bearing pin chains allow the attachment of application-specific accessories via hollow bearing pins. These attachments may be tightly fastened or loosely fastened in a "free" manner.
Solid-bearing pin chains have dimensions comparable to hollow-bearing pin chains. However, solid-bearing pin chains are fuller and thicker, making them suitable for more stringent conveyor needs.
Deep Link Conveyor Chains
Deep link chains have side plates that are deeper than standard link plates. They also provide a stable load-bearing edge at the top of the periphery of the roller. Deep link chains are equipped with hollow bearing pins and solid bearing pins.
Drop forged chains — also known as integral conveyor chains or scraper chains — come pre-installed with tool attachments that are welded directly to the links.
